Who we are

GainzLog is a personal fitness tracker. This policy covers the GainzLog website and app. If you have a question about your data, write to no-reply@gainzlog.com.

What we store

  • Your account: email address, password (only as a secure hash, never readable), language, time zone, unit system, sign-up and last login time.
  • Your body profile, if you fill it in: height, birth year, sex and activity level.
  • What you log: meals and meal templates, water intake, body weight and measurements, goals, workout plans, workouts and sets, reminders.
  • Your devices: devices you keep signed in on ("remember me") and browsers that get reminder notifications, each with its browser name.
  • Your subscription, if you have a paid plan: the plan, its status and period. Payments are handled by our payment provider; we never see or store your card details.
  • Security records: one-time email links (activation, password reset, email change) and, to stop abuse, failed attempts keyed by a one-way hash of your IP address or email.

Why we store it

Only to run GainzLog for you: to sign you in, show your logs, charts and progress, send the emails you need (account activation, password reset, subscription notices) and the reminders you switch on. We don't sell your data, show ads or use third-party analytics or trackers.

Body weight, measurements and the body profile can count as health data. You enter them yourself, by choice, and they are used only for your own charts and goals.

Cookies and local storage

  • a session cookie that keeps you signed in while you use the app,
  • remember_me, only if you ask to stay signed in,
  • locale, the language you picked,
  • your light / dark theme choice, kept in your browser's local storage.

All of them are needed for the app to work, so we don't ask for consent to them. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

Who else sees it

No one, except the services GainzLog needs to work: our hosting, the email service that delivers our emails, the push service of your browser (it only carries the reminder) and, for paid plans, the payment provider. Administrators of GainzLog can see account details to provide support and keep the service safe; such actions are logged.

How long we keep it

  • Your account and logs: until you delete them or your account.
  • Accounts that never confirm their email address are deleted automatically after a short time.
  • Failed sign-in attempts: one day.

Your rights

You can see and change your data in the app at any time. Under Settings → Privacy you can sign out your other devices, download all your data and delete your account, which deletes everything you logged. For anything else - a question, a correction, an objection - write to us at the address above. You can also complain to your data protection authority.

Changes

If this policy changes, we update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we let you know in the app or by email.
